An Ora Organic review of So Lean & So Clean Protein Powder and Ora supplements to see if this clean brand lives up to it’s claims.
There are a vast array of protein powder and supplement companies out there these days. As someone who’s always on the hunt for new and unique options I was intrigued to learn about Ora Organic last year.
Ora’s philosophy is quite simple- to create nutrient rich supplements from organic plants.
They currently offer a variety of products ranging from gut health to workout and recovery options to stress and sleep support and more. As an added bonus one of their co-founders is a chef who has done a fantastic job of ensuring that these supplements also make our taste buds happy.
Over the past six months I’ve had the opportunity to try four of their products:
- So Lean & So Clean Vanilla Protein Powder
- Trust Your Gut Probiotic Powder
- Easy Being Green- Superfoods Greens Powder
- Break It Down Digestive Enzymes
I’d like to share with you my honest thoughts on each.
*I received free samples from this company and also purchased some products, but all opinions are entirely my own and I was not asked to leave a review in exchange for goods.

Ora Organic Review
In this Ora Organic review I’d like to share with you the reason I was initially drawn to this clean brand and the reasons I will continue to support them.
We’re living in a time where the health, wellness, and fitness industries are saturated with “healthy” alternatives to traditional vitamins and supplements. At first glance it’s easy to assume that all of these companies have our best interests at heart and live up to their claims. However, I think it’s important for us to do our research.
Upon further inspection many of these company’s products are filled with synthetic ingredients, artificial sugars, and added fillers that contain very few natural ingredients to truly fuel our bodies.
That’s where Ora comes in…
Ora Organic Protein Powder Review
As an avid smoothie lover protein powder is pretty important to me. Although I do enjoy changing it up every once and a while there are a few protein powders that I find myself returning to again and again.
Ora Organic’s protein powder is a recent one that I’ve introduced into my rotation. What sets them apart is their ability to successfully add several superfoods into the mix.
Not only does a serving of their So Lean & So Clean protein powder provide a good amount of healthy protein (21 grams), but you’re also consuming a variety of nutrient packed superfoods with each scoop as well! Such as:
- Cranberry
- Sacha Inchi (A fruit harvested for its seeds in certain parts of South America and the Caribbean for its impressive nutrient profile)
- Amaranth
- Acai
- Acerola (A fruit similar to a cherry and good source of Vitamin C)
- Apple
- Blackberry
- Kale
- Strawberry
- And Turmeric to name a few!
Their unique combination also contains a special 100 mg enzyme blend of Amylase, Neutral Protease, Lactase, Lipase, and Cellulase. These enzymes help to digest food and increase metabolism.
As far as the taste goes, so far I’ve only tried the Vanilla flavor (they also offer chocolate and vanilla chai) but have been impressed. It reminds me of another one of my favorite protein powders but all of the additional nutrients and the enzyme blend are added benefits that honestly do set this one apart from the rest.
The vanilla flavor is a tad bit sweeter than other clean brands I’m familiar with, but not too sweet. (I will typically add a whole banana to my smoothies for additional sweetness, but find that this is not necessary with Ora’s vanilla protein powder) It is sweetened with monk fruit extract and stevia rather than sugar.
(I should note that I’m a single scoop smoothie maker. I only ever add 1 scoop (typically half of a serving) of protein powder to my 8 ounces of liquid. This helps to save on the cost of protein powder and prevent drinks from being overly sweet.)
All in all I believe that Ora has done a wonderful job of creating a solid and tasty protein powder while adding in some extra goodies for good measure. They’ve made a fan out of me and I appreciate their desire to stay true to healthy nutrients that will truly benefit our bodies and help them to thrive.
Ora Organic Probiotic Review
After reading raving reviews about the Trust Your Gut vegan probiotic and prebiotic powder supplement I decided to give it a go back in the summertime. The price point is pretty average for a healthy dose of 20 billion probiotics, but the impressive list of 7 different strains and simple ingredients drew me in.
Apart from the actual probiotic strains themselves and a prebiotic blend of Jerusalem Artichoke Inulin and Tapioca Oligosaccharides the only additional ingredients are apple powder and raspberry for flavor.
I added this to my smoothie every morning for a month and don’t remember having any major intestinal discomfort or IBS flare ups during that time frame. Going off of the ingredients and probiotic strains it seems like a solid product, but I can’t say for certain that I felt significantly better while taking this supplement.
My goal in writing these reviews is always to be completely transparent with you. For that reason I would like to give Ora’s probiotic powder another try to ensure that this product is genuinely helping my body and that I was taking the right dosage for my needs.
Ora Organic Greens Powder Review
Okay so I’m just going to be honest here, anyone who chooses to take a greens powder supplement typically doesn’t do it for the taste. Seaweed is potent! That being said, even though they are a wonderful brand, I didn’t have high expectations in the taste department for the Ora Organic Greens Powder.
I first tried Easy Being Green in 8 ounces of plain water. It has an earthy taste with a slight citrus flavor. The overall greens taste was a little stronger than I prefer in 8 ounces, but I did find success when I added it to a full 24 ounces of ice cold water! I also believe that it could successfully be added to a tropical/ citrus flavored smoothie or drink.
I genuinely appreciate the healthy and clean ingredients of this greens powder that includes a combination of over 20 organic grasses and greens along with some prebiotics including:
- Wheat grass juice powder (eliminates toxins, boosts energy, lowers cholesterol)
- Alfalfa leaf powder
- Spinach
- Kale
- Kelp
- Chlorella (a nutrient dense algae that aids in detoxification and boosts the immune system among other things)
- Spirulina
- Dandelion Leaf
- Green bell pepper, plus 10 more nutritious greens.
If you are struggling to include enough nutrient rich greens in your diet or desire a bit more energy throughout the day Ora Organic Greens Powder might be the perfect fit for you.

Ora Organic Digestive Enzymes
As an IBS sufferer I’m pretty familiar with digestive enzymes. My body isn’t fond of digesting carbohydrates of any kind. Although I try to avoid a decent amount of carbs I do still need them in my diet for optimal health.
The main role of digestive enzymes is to aid your digestive system in breaking down nutrients so they can be properly absorbed into the body.
When our bodies don’t naturally produce enough enzymes or struggle to break down certain foods, replacement digestive enzymes such as Ora Organic’s Break It Down can help. They are best taken right before a meal to ensure that they begin working at the appropriate time.
The Ora Organic digestive enzymes include 15 different enzymes (including Papain, Lipase, and Phytase) along with 1 billion probiotics to further aid assimilation. I’ve found the most success when I take these in combination with Heather’s Peppermint Oil Capsules which help calm the GI tract and prevent painful spasms and bloating.
Is Ora A Good Brand?
After researching the brand and consuming their products over the past several months I can confidently say that yes, Ora Organic is a good brand. They are a company with a vision to help people get and stay healthy by using the food that our Creator provided us to fuel and heal our bodies.
If you are searching for a solid brand with a variety of natural products I highly recommend you give Ora a try.
