About Me
Hi there! I’m Tabatha and I’m so glad you stopped by. I am a stay at home and homeschool mom of two sweet kiddos just trying to stay focused on what truly matters in life.
I married my best friend 12 years ago and doing life together has been a wonderful journey. Motherhood introduced me to a completely new journey which has been the inspiration behind much of this blog.
Viewing Food As Fuel
Over the last several years our family has been diagnosed with multiple food allergies, intolerances, and IBS which has led me to become a bit more creative in preparing healthy meals for us to enjoy.
While nursing my son we discovered his food allergies which meant that I needed to eliminate dairy and gluten, among other things, from my diet. I’ve always enjoyed eating healthy, but this transition was a bit overwhelming at first and I literally felt like I was eating the same meals and snacks over and over again which had some negative effects on my body.
Through some trial and error and lots of research I finally started figuring things out and would like to share with you what I have learned in hopes that it will be a help to you if you are struggling in this area as well. At this point I still eat 95% gluten and dairy free and actually prefer it this way.
There are so many delicious foods out there! I’ve developed an even a greater appreciation for tasty whole foods and the ability to prepare a healthy meal for my family.
A New Perspective
When I became pregnant with our little lady my awareness of just about everything naturally increased, which included the limited amount of time I was devoting to good solid exercise. The realization that I was responsible for the health and well-being of the precious little one growing inside of me had a way of waking me up! At the very beginning of my pregnancy I started faithfully exercising and it felt great! I continued this routine until a couple of years ago when I discovered that I genuinely enjoy weight-lifting. The ability to work hard and push yourself to the limit all while seeing results has been exciting for me! Although I will happily workout on my own, I also love when my husband is able to join me and we can encourage and challenge each other. It’s like a mini date night!
Life Is A Gift
To sum it all up: I am passionate about my family and taking care of the health we’ve been given, which is where a decent amount of these blog posts will focus. However, what I am most passionate about is my faith in Jesus Christ and sharing Him with a lost and dying world. His grace and love are beyond comprehension and it is the very least I can do to share the hope He offers with others.
I pray that this blog will be an encouragement to you. Life truly is a journey that doesn’t last long. May we look to our Creator for true joy and peace that only He can give.
